MTC Move In
Hellooo! It's already P-day, so my emails are a little close together. (I sent my last one on "travel day" don't tell my prez :))
Move in was smooth sailing, and day one left me sleeping like a baby.
An elder in my district got hurt in the gym, so we get to wheel him around campus with us, definitely helps burn off the delicious cafeteria food. We don't know for sure what's wrong, but they suspect a meniscus tear, so pray for Elder Teel, it would be a heavy loss for him, the district, and the Provo mission if he had to go home.
We're in Branch 1 so this weekend we get to help with welcoming new sister missionaries. Not totally sure what that will look like yet, but definitely hoping to be in the parking garage to "abduct" them from their families.
A great message I've heard from the last few days comes from a talk by Elder Bednar. He compared the natural man to the cookie monster, who wants what he wants and wants it now. Bednar encouraged us to be cautious of those selfish thoughts, and instead be aware of the world around us and how other people make an impact on our lives, as well as how we can impact them.
If there were no other people on earth, being a righteous believer would be easy. But we need other people to feel love, pain, humility, and grief.
I invite you to identify those ways that you give into the desires of the flesh. Think less of what we want, and more of what others need. God will bless you with the strength to turn outward and love your peers!
