Operation: Split The Stake!
Leesville is BEAUTIFUL. I never want to leave.
The STLs I'm in a trio with are both at the end of their mission! It's kinda been crazy because they both are receiving big time revelation for their post-mission lives and it's rubbing off on me a little:) Also GEN CONF?!?! Whaaat so good. If any of yall missed the Saturday morning session go watch it right now.
The stake I'm serving in is mega huge, and our new stake president is working hard on our initiative from the First Presidency to split the Alexandria stake! We sat in on the high council meeting to discuss the vision for the next 5 years and the spirit was so insanely strong as we read the direction from God to prepare this area to form multiple branches and build a temple. (Mississippi is one of only a few states in the US left without a temple, and Louisiana only has the one in Baton Rouge.)
In Leesville our ward is mostly soldiers that live on Fort Polk, and all the friends we're teaching are soldiers too. I've never seen a town more patriotic than Leesville and I count myself so lucky to get to see it. The sacrifices they make for our freedom is insane and seeing the gospel bless their lives as they have blessed this country is incredible.
I have a thought this week that comes from conference: simplify!! The Lord is the master of simplicity and Satan is the master of confusion. It really is as simple as choosing what feels right by the spirit. The only complications that we face come from our resistance to the will of God. Please know that His goal is your happiness, on earth and in heaven.
And remember Ether 11:14
"Moron did that which was wicked before the Lord" :)
Also: I sleep talk pretty bad sometimes, and Saturday night- after Rasbands talk about the Book of Mormon I might add- I sat fully up in bed and testified that the Book of Mormon is so true! Apparently I spoke for another five minutes about the truth of the church. We had a good laugh in the morning when my comps told me about my 3 am sermon.
Have a great week yall!
