Camping In Carthage
Happy fall yall! We had a hectic weekend out here in Mississippi, but it was well worth it!!
We serve in a branch as well as our ward, and our branch meets in this tiny tiny town up north called Carthage, in a little church house that Joseph F Smith bought for $10 over 100 years ago.
We spent the weekend in a trailer to do a few weeks worth of work there in one weekend- and the Lord worked our tails off.
Living in the trailer was an experience of its own, the place was overrun by ladybugs??? Also there was a solid lightning storm each night and the rain made for some solid white noise so I slept like a baby in a blanket of bugs.
There's some mega sketch neighborhoods out in the woods there, like I'm convinced murderers bury their bodies out there. In one neighborhood we apparently didn't follow the prompting to leave urgently enough because a car full of teenagers pulled over to tell us we were the biggest idiots ever to be in that area. They kindly gave us directions to follow the safest streets out, and we hauled booty getting outta there.
At one house the Spirit straight up stopped me from getting too close. It felt like I smacked into a brick wall in his lawn. So God is taking good care of us young white girls out here:))
Anywho it was a great week, God gave us 30 new people in one day of street contacting!! We are so so blessed out here.
I want to reaffirm the promise that God gave Joseph Smith when he too was in Carthage;),
"all these things shall give thee experience, and shall be for thy good"
Your Heavenly Father never, never, never plans for your unhappiness. However, he prioritizes your growth over your comfort. Never let yourself believe that God has left your side or given you a meaningless burden! It is all for your good.
God loves you and I love you!
