Glamping Pt 2 And Turkey Day!

Image
This week had no right to go by so fast but here we are!!  Thanksgiving was an absolute party, we spent the evening at a members house with a few families from the ward and laughed for hours. They also took us around the neighborhood on a golf cart to see Xmas lights! This ward is my new home and I'm not even mad about it.  We also went back up to Carthage to see our branch this weekend! We did some fire work in Canton on the way and did visits that each lead to finding new people to teach!! We gave talks in church and it was so much fun! I learn more about the gospel teaching it than being taught haha!  Also, I got my first aggressive driving violation this week so that was peppy. I love yall so much! I know that this church is true, not just because I've received a witness from the Lord but because it requires us to grow! Only God's true and full gospel will require us to be uncomfortable and make sacrifices. The sooner you can commit to being humble and obedient, the soo

Happy Thanksgiving Week!

Another beautiful week!!  We're loving the sweater weather and Madison decorated for Christmas is absolutely stunning! I gave a talk in sacrament yesterday and got tons of meal appointments scheduled with us afterward because the members want to hear more of "sister  frasures  crazy stories" so that's a win??? I had so many opportunities this week to bear testimony of living prophets! I have faith in and sustain Russel M Nelson as our prophet today! He receives modern revelation to prepare us for what is ahead- and that is why it's so important that we trust him. President Nelson can peek around corner and tell us exactly what we need in order to get through it. And what he's telling us we need right now is "the guiding, directing, comforting, and constant influence of the Holy Ghost." I know that this is the true church of Jesus Christ!! Within it is God's authority to minister in the name of Jesus Christ, His priesthood power. By the priesthood

Your Friendly Neighborhood Clean-up Crew

Another great week in MS! We cleaned out a few houses this week that were still wrecked from the hurricane last year. One house wasn't too bad but the other......oh boy. For context, cockroaches can survive nuclear blasts- and we found nothing but dead roaches in this trailer. We were able to clean a decent amount of the black mold off, but one room was just too far gone. So we ripped up the carpet and threw it out the window. We were all coughing, gagging, and I think I saw Elder Nelson cry. The fumes were bad enough that I think I'm now a superhero, that's what radiation does, right?!? If not, then it's probably because I heaved it all back up when we got home:)  We were crazy busy teaching lessons this week, usually around 8 a day!! It was so much fun, just exhausting. We hit the hay right at 9 every night. I want to share a quote from the talk, "Swallowed Up in the Will of the Father" by Elder Neal A Maxwell.  "Actually, everything depends—initially

Camping In Carthage

Happy fall yall! We had a hectic weekend out here in Mississippi, but it was well worth it!!  We serve in a branch as well as our ward, and our branch meets in this tiny tiny town up north called Carthage, in a little church house that Joseph F Smith bought for $10 over 100 years ago.  We spent the weekend in a trailer to do a few weeks worth of work there in one weekend- and the Lord worked our tails off.  Living in the trailer was an experience of its own, the place was overrun by ladybugs??? Also there was a solid lightning storm each night and the rain made for some solid white noise so I slept like a baby in a blanket of bugs.   There's some mega sketch neighborhoods out in the woods there, like I'm convinced murderers bury their bodies out there. In one neighborhood we apparently didn't follow the prompting to leave urgently enough because a car full of teenagers pulled over to tell us we were the biggest idiots ever to be in that area. They kindly gave us directions
