Last Week In Gonzo

Image
Crazy week! Me and my comp are getting emergency transfered out of Gonzales- she's going to Pride and I'm going to Leesville! I'm so sad to say goodbye to gonzo, we just put two families on date :( But I told the elders that if they fail our people then I'll bike back here and baptize them myself.  But my last week here has been powerful, sentimental and sooo busy! Elder Abren turned 24, and we made him a cake with redbull in it- it was actually really good even though we just pulled the recipe out of the sky.  The senior couple missionaries moved out! We hauled all their furniture and boxes out- Elder Abney and I were in the truck loading crates and I tell you I've never sweat more in my life. Not an inch of that trunk is empty, it was the workout I never knew I needed.  At service this week I taught some adorable old ladies how to blanket stitch, and made ourselves some cute lil puppets for the women and children's shelter. They were so fun to talk to! You'

Okay y'all, Emily Frasure was a stone cold fox but Sister Frasure is a total crybaby! I cry just about every time I bear my testimony which happens multiple times a day so needless to say I'm dehydrated. I forgot to mention transfers last week, but our whole district is staying in gonzo! That must mean we're perfect so don't be surprised if we get translated pretty soon. #cityofenoch Quick updates: Learned about the high concentration of banana spiders here, haven't seen one yet but based on the 3 ft webs we've found, I reeeally don't want to.  A christmas movie is being filmed here, so sorrento is looking very festive! Go watch Cajun Christmas on the hallmark channel Thanksgiving weekend and tell me if you see a cute sister missionary in the background ;)  We had a miraculous weekend! On Friday we did our regular donaldsonville trip, and we had our friend Tomeka say she wants to come to church! But before we left she pulled me aside to whisper that she didn

Busy week! We had more lessons on Friday alone than we've had this whole transfer =) I started the week on LSU campus for exchanges, and recited the first vision for my first time in a lesson! I was shocked how much it affected me- one word in I was tearing up right there in the student union building. It is the truth! Joseph Smith really did recieve the priesthood to restore the full gospel to the earth. And I'm so grateful to live in the latter days! We finally got around to visiting Donaldsonville at the far end of our area, it's a very small trailer park town over the river and we are super limited in how we visit since we're white girls:). But on Friday we scheduled visits to all our media referrals over there, and the miracles overflowed. In all five homes we taught the full resto lesson and either the plan of salvation or gospel of Jesus christ lessons on top. These people are truly elect!! We even tracked down a member who'd been baptized 20 years ago and go

Mission life is so so special! This week alot of our appointments fell through so I focused on ministering to my quad-mates and some of our friends that have been struggling. There are some real hard trials people are going through but I'm glad I have my fellow sisters to uplift me. The way we can get to know each other spiritually as missionaries has been so amazing and I've learned so much about charity.  In 2 Peter chapter 1, Peter teaches us the pathway to having charity- or the love of Christ.  "And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge;  And to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and to patience godliness;  And to godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness charity." Charity is the ultimate goal! To love people -including ourselves- as Christ loves them is the attritube we should all be seeking. But you have to build to it! I would encourage you all to read these verses and see where on thi
